In his work, poet Edgar Allan Poe, proclaims with a heavy heart his distress when faced with losses, answering each happy memory with: “Nevermore”. “Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, and each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow ; vainly I had sought to borrow from my books surcease of sorrow, sorrow for the lost Lenore, for the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore Nameless here for nevermore.” Calligraphed with a raven quill from the recesses of “Night’s Plutonian Shore”, his poem The Raven makes the concept of “now and forever” blossom, a true story steeped in legend. On the poet’s birthday, 19 January, a mysterious visitor leaves three red roses and a flask of Cognac on Edgar Allan Poe’s tomb. An enigmatic gesture, beautiful in its gratuitousness, a dark, baroque universe, purple roses and amber liquid… The Frapin House has drawn inspiration from this legend to create a new olfactory narration.
